Creative Pumpkin ideas – no carving required
For many, many years I tried carving pumpkins for Halloween. It was messy, difficult and always frightening as I imagined a trip to the emergency room with several severed fingers. This year I went to the internet to find some easy ways to get in the Halloween spirit. Here are just a few of the simple ideas I found.

Mummy Pumpkin
Head to your first aid cabinet for this mummy pumpkin—you’re going to need all the bandages you can find! Simply wrap gauze around the entire pumpkin, leaving a slit open in the front, then glue on a set of googly eyes to complete the look.
Get out the Drill You can pre-mark designs, but even randomly drilled holes look great. Cut a hole in the bottom, scoop out the gunk and add a tea light, battery-powered candle, or even a string of mini lights and you’re done.
Get creative with Paint
Check out all the different paint patterns you can try! Get bold with gold and silver, black and orange. For a dramatic entry stack multiple pumpkins by the front door.

Googly Eyes
In less than a minute create one-of-a kind pumpkins with press on googly eyes.
These fun ideas were brought to you by the Blackhawk Bloomers Garden Club. If you would like to learn more or become a member of this fantastic organization, please contact Maria Knutson at m.knutson@comcast.net
