Primo’s: The Classic Hangout Gets Even Better!

Meet the New Owners
If you live in Blackhawk, chances are you know about Primo’s. It’s been around for over 50 years and is an iconic place in the Danville community where people go to watch sports, hang out with friends, hold end-of-season youth sports celebrations, and enjoy good food and drinks. The new owners are Danville residents Jimmy and Jennifer Jhanda, and they’re making it even better. The owners say they’re keeping the same old Primo’s that everyone knows and loves, but are just adding a few new things to make it even more enjoyable.

New Touches
Primo’s has added some new items to the menu, like the delicious smash burger. They’ve also started some renovations, including the newly remodeled restrooms that have a nice modern look- there’s even a wall console to play your favorite music!

When you pull up on Diablo Road and Hartz Avenue, you’ll also notice updated Primo’s signage out front as well as inside the restaurant.

Primo’s Is More Than a Pizza Place
People generally think of Primo’s as just a pizza place, but it serves much more than that. The non-pizza items are phenomenal, just like the pizza. For starters, I recommend the cheesy garlic sticks which come with a couple dipping sauces. To get your veggies in and if you want lighter bites, the caesar salad with chicken hit the spot.

Moving on to entrees, the steak street tacos were delicious. The steak is extremely tender, juicy, and flavorful, wrapped in warm tortillas and topped with fresh cilantro. You can also try it with chicken! The tacos are on the regular menu- it’s the perfect size for kids or for lighter bites for an adult.

Another non-pizza item and my personal favorite is the smash burger. It has a perfectly cooked patty with melted cheese, and a great burger sauce, almost like Cane’s sauce. It’s a home run, and I suppose that’s how it gets its name: smash burger. It comes with homemade crispy fries, seasoned with paprika…yum!

We all know kids love dessert. Try the cinna-bites that are like mini churros with a special dipping sauce. It transported me back to Disneyland for a brief moment!

Sports and Entertainment
Primo’s is already known as a great place to watch sports. With around 58 TVs, you can come in and watch your favorite team play — whether that’s football, basketball, hockey, baseball, or soccer. With the FIFA World Cup coming to the USA next year, I took the opportunity to ask Mr. Jhanda about their plans. Primo’s will be creating an awesome atmosphere for watch parties, and I hope to see you all there for some World Cup games! Additionally, they stream the Monte Vista, SRV, and De La Salle away games. That way, parents don’t have to drive hours away to watch their kids play, and they can grab some good food and drinks with a local cheering crowd. It sounds like there are many more exciting plans underway at Primo’s- we’re lucky to have this establishment right here in our town!
