The 4th annual Angel Cup was held on May 1st, welcoming 65 ladies to Blackhawk for a spirited and sunny day on the course. The Blackhawk Niners were proud to host golfers from Ruby Hill, Round Hill, Diablo, Orinda, Crow Canyon, Stonebrae, and Moraga. The Angel Cup is such a cherished tradition—offering friendly competition and the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow golfers from across the East Bay. In return, clubs invite the Niners to play at their courses throughout the year, strengthening the bonds of our golfing community.Members and guests began the day with breakfast at Lakeside before heading out for a fun morning of camaraderie on the course. For a $20 donation, golfers could purchase a mulligan or a bunker escape, adding to the fun while supporting a meaningful cause. Thanks to the generosity of all who participated, over $1,000 was raised for Youth on Course, helping to provide high school girls with affordable access to the game we all love. This year, we donated to Clayton Valley Charter School. After the round, the ladies gathered in the The Overlook for a delicious lunch and the winners were announced—capping off a perfect day on and off the course.

Shout out to the helpful husbands—Lee Porteous, Bill Bump, and Dave Davis and the Blackhawk golf staff for warmly welcoming our guests and ensuring all golf bags were promptly loaded onto carts—it made for a smooth and stress-free start to a fantastic day. Dave Davis, our “resident photographer” captured wonderful photos—pictures that will help us relive these special moments again and again.
A heartfelt thank you to Andrew Brown for his dedication and efforts to set up the day and his unwavering support throughout the event.
