With great excitement, I write this letter of introduction to you as the new principal of St. Isidore School! For over 25 years, it has been my ministry to serve in the Catholic school community as an educator and administrator. I place tremendous emphasis on instilling the mission of our faith and providing a program of academic excellence. It is an incredible honor and privilege to lead St. Isidore School.
My introduction to serving in Catholic education began on the peninsula, under the Archdiocese of San Francisco. After ten years of teaching in Belmont and San Bruno, I embraced the leadership role of vice-principal. Two years later, I became principal at Our Lady of Angels School (Burlingame). It was then while serving on a WCEA Accreditation Team that I became acquainted with St. Isidore School. I was immediately impressed by the school’s strong sense of community and dedication to students, academically, and spiritually.
I reconnected with St. Isidore School when I moved to Danville in 2005 and was hired as a fourth-grade long-term substitute teacher. Since then, I have served in several positions at St. Isidore School to include Jr. High teacher, vice-principal, academic support, and parishioner.
2020–2021 School Year Serving as a principal during a pandemic is a monumental task! The feeling of uncertainty that surrounds each day and a longing for a sense of normalcy is constant. Along with my leadership team, I spent this summer connecting with teachers, parents, and diocesan leadership to navigate this uncertainty while analyzing what other academic institutions across the nation had outlined for the upcoming year. The county’s recent mandate has confirmed that we will start the school year in a long-distance format. Faculty and staff have been busy expanding technology platforms and implementing engaging lessons and activities. We have prepared a rigorous academic and faith-filled online program for our students. Our ultimate goal is to bring our students back to campus safely, and we are busy preparing for that time.
I pray you remain in good health, stay safe, and have an excellent start to the school year!
