The Blackhawk HOA hosted a safety and awareness presentation where both San Ramon Valley Fire Department representatives and I spoke. Part of the presentation touched on evacuation procedures in the event Blackhawk was ordered to evacuate. The following page provides a diagram of Blackhawk, excluding the communities located outside the Main and East Gates. This diagram shows a vehicular evacuation route providing the nearest exit from the community, based on where your residence is located. For residents right near the border of a color change, please keep in mind a one-directional flow of traffic was taken into consideration as well to help expedite the evacuation process. In the event of a needed evacuation, there are four vehicular exit points for residents to utilize. Obviously, there are Main and East gates, stationed and monitored 24/7 by HOA privacy staff. The other two gates are always locked and located at the end of Live Oak Ct. and the south end of Blackhawk Meadow Dr. (Hansen Gate). In the event of an ordered or emergency evacuation, these gates will be unlocked by either my staff or HOA privacy staff. For residents in the green highlighted area on the map, it is recommended you exit the community through the Live Oak Ct. gate, placing you on Blackhawk Rd. If, for some reason, Blackhawk Rd. was closed at this location, your secondary exit would be to continue through Main Gate. For those residing on the streets highlighted in pink, your exit point would be Main Gate. For residents whose streets are highlighted in gold, your exit point would be Hansen Gate (south end of Blackhawk Meadow Dr.). Residents in Hidden Oaks, Tennis Villas, Saddleback, Oakridge, Silver Oaks and Silver Maple would utilize the sole gate for their community as their exit point.

Reminder for Those Who Ride E-Bikes:
Below are a few reminders of the rules for riders.
1. Wear a helmet if under 18 years of age (Class 3 bikes require a helmet regardless of age).
2. Come to a COMPLETE STOP at all stop signs.
3. Ride with the direction of traffic.
4. Always stay to the farthest right portion of the roadway.
5. Riders of Class 3 bikes must have a valid driver’s license. As a reminder, Class 1 and 2 bikes are those with engines that provide a max speed of 20 mph (with or without pedal assist). A Class 3 bike has an engine that provides a max speed of 28 mph.
Parents of minor children, please make sure your child is adhering to these laws and is riding only a Class 1 or 2 e-bike if unlicensed. By educating your child, this will help lower the number of violations, keeping your child and this community safe. Blackhawk deputies will be looking out for the above listed violations and will be citing them when warranted.
