Maximize Your Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is making the exterior of your home welcoming, attractive, and desirable to buyers. It’s about highlighting your property’s outdoor space, to make your home as appealing as possible to everyone who pulls up to your curb for the first time. First impressions really matter!

According to the national association of realtors (NAR) study, 97% of realtors agree that potential buyers find curb appeal important, with 66 percent saying that buyers tend to rank it as a very important factor when considering homes.

Here are some easy fixes to help your curb appeal.

Update the exterior paint. The color of your home is oftentimes one of the first things a buyer will notice. Faded, chipped, and flaking paint can dramatically decrease your curb appeal.

Replace or repair your old fence. Leaning and broken fences can hurt your property value.

Landscape. Simply edging, mulching the garden, and pruning the trees and hedges can transform any landscape. Did you know sharp plants take away from curb appeal? Sorry Roses. Soft edges tend to show better. Your plants and landscape should be inviting and calming. Clean and manicured yards show you care for your home.

Wash the windows and replace broken or damaged screens. Not only do clean windows show well as buyers walk up to the house, but while inside looking outside you’d like to to see through the clean glass not notice how dirty the windows are.

How’s your front door? Clean? Does it need to be sanded? Painted, replaced? Front doors quickly begin to look worn and tired with daily use and harsh weather. It’s easy to clean the door or paint it.

Clean everything. Power wash, knock down cobwebs, replace burnt out bulbs, make sure light fixtures look nice and replace the door mat.

I have earned success by always making it easier to navigate the selling process, at every step of the way — from pricing your home, to getting your property ready to sell, to marketing your listing, to leading negotiations and closing the sale. If you’re thinking of selling, give me a call.
