Happy New Year Crafting

It’s the new year! Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season. We had a lot of Zoom Celebrations over the holidays. I really miss hugging people, being able to travel freely and large family gatherings. Hopefully, we can get back to some normalcy in this new year. Fingers crossed!

Since the weather has gotten colder, I have started making hats and scarves both by crocheting and knitting. I tried knitting (see the grey scarf below)! The videos on the internet, explaining how to make these crafts are endless. Three months ago I didn’t know how to crochet or knit. That is how good these tutorials are.

Here are a few examples of items I’ve made. I hope you are inspired to try crocheting and knitting. There’s something satisfying about it. I can’t explain it. I just love it.

Yarn is an easy thing to find. You can get it from Joann’s or Michael’s, and there is a store in Danville dedicated to knitting and crocheting called A Yarn Less Raveled (support local businesses). A Yarn Less Raveled not only sells yarn, knitting and crochet supplies, but also offers classes. It is a great way to meet people in your local community.

Enjoy your January and I hope to have some Valentine’s Day craft ideas for you in February!
