Discover Blackhawk Bloomers

We’re so Much More Than a Garden Club

The Blackhawk Bloomers bring to life the world of flowers, gardening and all good things that Mother Nature has to share through workshops, events and social activities. This past year we learned about the world of Monarch butterflies, the value of bees, how flowers are used as fashion statements and the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Our master gardeners also taught and answered our many questions on how to get our flowers, plants and gardens to flourish.

Our programs are designed for fun, personal enrichment and a way to meet and grow friendships.

The Bloomers also support our surrounding community through volunteer programs such as the Dig in the Dirt program that engages 5th graders to get hands on with planting and harvesting vegetables. Our members volunteer at the Bounty Garden Project, a non-profit committed to providing fresh vegetables to local food banks. We are always looking for new ideas and fun ways to learn and share gardening and floral information.

To join the Bloomers you must be a resident of Blackhawk or a member of the Blackhawk Country Club. To learn more, contact Rose Gogarty at rosegogarty@gmail.com.

It’s a great time to get together and share your stories, kick back and take a moment to socialize with old and new friends. Come join the fun, Thursday, August 19 from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. hosted by Di Egkan. Bring and appetizer, dessert of a bottle of wine to share. It is as easy as contacting Dawm Schaeffer to RSVP and let her know what you plan to bring: 408-666-6760 or dschaefferb@gmail.com.
