INSPIRATION. A force, revelation or influence that motivates. This is something beyond your desperately needed morning cup of caffeine.There is so much to inspire you in this year’s BWGA. Take a moment and look at our web site photos to see our victorious Diablo Valley Team play participants. Per team leader Lily Weng, the DVTP met on April 15th at the Orinda CC where they proceeded to out-score, out-maneuver and simply out-play team Diablo CC. And like that inspiring cup of Joe, they never disappoint.
The BWGA proudly congratulates three of our very own members who on April 21st and 22nd played some truly inspired big girl golf at the annual WGANC tournament at a very windy Ruby Hills CC in Pleasanton. Sue Cookson shot 88 and 86 to win her flight. Lydia Shell with a consistent 82, 82 took second in her flight and Lisa Winsten took 6th in her flight with an 89 and 84 !
As of this month’s deadline, we have six new 2021 BWGA members who were motivated to join our ranks. They are: Patricia Karlskind, Judy Ma, Linnell McRee, Jo Peek, Vicki Robinson and Janet Wan. Welcome Ladies. We are glad you’re here to enjoy some of 2021’s premier events. We hope you know the registration deadline for our Happy Campers Classic is May 15th. Chairperson, Dawn Schaeffer and her amazing committee guarantee that June 23rd, 24th and 25th will be days filled with shopping fun, raffle prizes, delicious food and of course, great golf! As per conversation via Dawn and Smokey the Bear, you do not want to miss this “smoking hot” memorable event!

Not sure how we managed it, but weekly tournament chair ladies, Denise Benger and Nancy Lisiak, returned in 2021 to arrange a new game every Thursday complete with a One Fun Thing award that keeps you in the mix even when your golf clubs do not! All you have to do is sign up on fortees and please be on time. Factor in a couple extra minutes if you are in charge of picking up score cards for your group. Late is Not Great!
In closing, life isn’t like a pair of shoes, being inspired and motivated never goes out of style.
