The Blackhawk Bloomers Garden Club is thrilled to offer a luncheon program, “A Celebration of India,” on October 25, 2023. Our esteemed speaker will be Dr. Shobana Vankipuram, a woman of many talents and a resident of Blackhawk. Shobana is a board-certified family physician, an ayurveda enthusiast, a business owner, and a classical Indian dancer. She will educate our members and guests about Diwali, which will be celebrated November 12 this year. She will also speak to ayurveda, a long-established holistic approach to physical and mental health. She is the founder of Raaka’s World (raakasworld.com), a beauty and wellness company that provides products made from plants and spices. And, lucky us, she will have products to purchase! Ten percent of her proceeds from sales at the event will go to Lead in Heels (leadinheels.org) and Narika (narika.org), non-profits supporting women and girls globally. She will share the beauty and majesty of the Indian culture with us all and grace us with classical Indian dance! Not an event to be missed!
