Be a Friend!

For over 60 years, the Friends of the Danville Library (FODL) has generously helped make the Library a truly special place. Through sales in its Library Bookstore as well as through special book sale events all year round, the Friends group has contributed to the Library’s adult and children’s programs, special on-site events, as well as the purchase of new books and materials benefiting all patrons. And there is always a need for new members! So “Be a Friend” and pick up a membership form in the Bookstore. As a member, you’ll know all about the happenings at the bookstore, its sales and events–and you’ll make a big difference to our great community library. Thank you for your support!

Don’t Miss the December Library Book Sale!

Circle Saturday, December 3, on your calendar! The Friends of the Danville Library’s Pop-up Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Mt. Diablo Room. You can’t beat the prices at the Friends’ monthly sales with most books priced at $2.00 for hard cover and $1.00 for paperback. Choose from a large selection of children’s books, non-fiction, hard cover and paperback fiction, plus biography/memoir, classics, cookbooks, vintage, mysteries, and more. In addition, there’s always a table of newer fiction (2020-2022!) priced slightly higher from $3.00 to $5.00. And this month there will be Christmas books on hand for holiday gift giving!

The Friends’ Library Bookstore is open Mondays – Saturdays, 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. The Friends also host a small bookshelf in the library (by the Print Station) where you can also browse and purchase books for readers of all ages.

Looking to donate books? Donations are accepted at the Bookstore every day (except Sundays) with donations limited to four bags per donor per day. You can even drop by the bookstore to fill out a volunteer application if you’d like to be part of the fun!
